Canada’s Adam Hadwin is setting the early pace the Memorial.
The Abbotsford, B.C., golfer shot a 6-under 66 in the first round of the PGA Tour signature event to take the clubhouse lead in Dublin, Ohio.
Hadwin is one stroke ahead of world No. 1 Scottie Scheffler.
The Canadian birdied four of his final six holes, though he bogeyed No. 18 to lose a bit of momentum.
Hadwin is third among Canadians and 59th overall in the world golf rankings — with only the top two set to earn Olympic berths after next week’s U.S. Open.
Fellow Canadians Nick Taylor is 30th and Corey Conners is 45th.
